Picnic on Kangaroo Point

Wintertime in Oz really can't be beat. Yesterday, Ryan and I walked a couple of blocks to the tip of Kangaroo Point, the suburb that we live in, and had a picnic in the park. Kangaroo Point is a peninsula which the Brisbane River flows around. On the Northern tip of the Peninsula The Story Bridge connects Kangaroo Point to Downtown Brisbane.

Here is a picture of the tip of Kangaroo Point, where the park is. Our apartment is the short red one that you can barely see on the left side of The Story Bridge.

It was a sunny day, so we sat in the shade under a large tree and watched all of our fellow picnickers as the boats sped past. Some were BBQing, others were running around chasing their little ones and some were playing soccer. As I've mentioned before, one of the things I love about Australia is that the people get out and enjoy the outdoors. There must have been 50+ people picnicking in the park. And as we sat there, another 30+ or so came riding through on their bikes. What great way to spend a Sunday.
